- October Elemental Holiday Clubby Pastor Chris Ricketts
Our Half Term Holiday Club is back!
Join us for three days of Elemental fun together! There will be games, songs, quizzes, bible stories, competitions and clips from the film.
But, if you haven’t seen the film yet, we’ve got that covered too. Come along Friday 20th and let’s watch it together. There will be a tuck shop available to buy and of course, popcorn.
It’s not far away, so get booked on today by completing details below.
- Weep with those who weepby Pastor Chris Ricketts
I’ve taken a funeral today. They are usually emotionally sad occasions. We are saying goodbye to someone we knew and loved.
This service was easier, because the person who died had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 4v13 states that Christians … “do not grieve like the rest of the world, who have no hope.” We know that death is not the end.
Before I left to take the funeral this song came on UCB2 radio station. I found it very comforting. I hope it blesses you too.
(For some reason the YouTube link doesn’t seem to display properly on some laptops. If it’s not there, click on the post page title and you will find it. It’s well worth listening to.)
- Learning New Thingsby Pastor Chris Ricketts
We’ve recently purchased a new laptop for the church and it takes a bit of getting used to – Windows 11 instead of 10. We have also got new software for live-streaming the services – if only we could get all the bits to talk nicely together. And on top of all that I’ve personally changed from Windows to Mac! – why put the minimise window buttons on the other side? And we’re updating our website – well sort of.
Way too many changes at the same time. I feel like I’m running round in circles and getting nowhere. Just tired with a headache!
Jesus said, “Come to me and I will give you rest.” Now that sounds good. Maybe after a little rest with Jesus I might have new energy to cope with life. Certainly worth trying.
Sometimes, the busy-ness of life makes us feel paralysed. That’s when we need someone to carry us.
